A Hole-in-One for Community Support: Matrix Group Backs Budding Golf Star

Multi-utility specialist Matrix Group is proud to announce its sponsorship of promising young golfer Tom Hughes, through its Community Support Fund.

Local to Formby, 22 year-old Tom has shown exceptional dedication and skill on the golf course from a young age. With numerous local competitions under his belt and a vision to compete at professional level, Tom’s journey is one of ambition. Through the Community Support Fund, Tom will receive comprehensive backing for training with professional coaches, branded uniforms that stand out on the field, and accommodation during crucial competitions. Nominated by Matrix Group’s Ryan Leary, Asset Services ICP Support, the funded package is designed to ensure that financial constraints don’t hinder Tom’s talent and hard work.

Tom is currently competing in prestigious world-ranking amateur events. His current handicap is +4.0 and he holds the course record at Formby Golf Club with a score of 6 under 66.

He said: “I’m delighted to have Matrix Group on board with my journey and I appreciate the support in helping me achieve my goals. With generosity and support, it’s enabling me to gain some valuable experience competing in some of the country’s elite and prestigious amateur events.

“My preparation for this season is well underway. I have a winter training programme in place, golf and fitness to help me gain more distance and injury prevention, and am working with my psychologist not only on golf specific items but also general life skills.

“With continued support I’m excited about my future and relish the challenge ahead. Thank you once again for your support.”
